Delaware Valley Veterans Home Walk and Wheel Way
This is a project by the Rotary Club of Langhorne PA to install a walk and wheel way of pavers, a wall, three flagpoles and lights for the flags at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia. Currently the ground is inaccessible for wheelchairs and is not usable, so the veterans sit in their wheelchairs in the driveway outside the building entrance, partially blocking the driveway. Besides being dangerous and uncomfortable for the veterans, it's an unattractive situation for the home. We hope to have the walkway finished in time for Memorial Day celebrations. This project will serve to make the ground usable as well as be a source of pride to the 170 veterans at the home. Please donate to this project to enhance the final years of these veterans by clicking on the Go Fund Me page link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/veterans-home-walk-and-wheel-way
We love how our Early Act Students at Tawanka Elementary School help others! This past year the Early Act Club collected over 200 pairs of sneakers in their Dunk Your Kicks program, they raised $300. for a water project in Ekenwande, they created a Promo Video for Read Across America and they planted flower urns around the flag pole at Tawanka. We are proud to help sponsor this program....and these are kids we can all be proud of!
